Hey everyone!

It's been awhile since I've posted on this blog, but I'm finally back. I took a short break during the summer, but school started again so it's time to used this blog as an outlet away from school related things. I hope you guys had a wonderful summer and I can't wait to talk to you all about Pokémon soon.

For all the people who are new to my blog, hi and welcome! My name is Gisselle Aguilera and I'm 15 years old. I'm a sophomore who is currently trying to survive high school. I live in California and I love to roller blade. I'm also a big fan of Game of Thrones, Bates Motel, and The Walking Dead.  I'm a video game enthusiast and my first ever video game was Pokémon FireRed.  I basically like to think of myself as the female equivalent of Gene Belcher. In all seriousness, I really enjoy talking about Pokémon so I use this blog in order to do just that. Ever since I was a child, Pokémon has always been something I've held close to my heart. I write this blog in order to keep those memories and feelings flowing. How To: Evolve Your Pokémon With Evolutionary Stones

Hello guys, it's been quite a while since I have updated this blog. I hope you are all having a wonderful day today and here's a quick how to on how to evolve Pokémon using an evolutionary stone.

An evolutionary stone is a stone-like item that aids some species of Pokémon in their evolutionary process. Evolutionary stones can be used any time you want, causing the Pokémon of your choice to evolve instantly. Besides the Everstone, which must be held in order for the evolution to occur, all stones can be directly applied to all Pokémon.

Some types of stones work better on a Pokémon's specific type. For example, if you want to evolve a Charmander, it'd be best to use a fire stone instead of a water stone because Charmander is a Fire Type; therefore, the stone would actually evolve the Charmander.

Evolutionary Stone Tutorial:

Step 1: Choose the Pokémon you would like to evolve. I'll be using Bulbasaur for this example.

Step 2: Choose the Evolutionary Stone that would best fits the type of Pokémon you will be evolving. Since Bulbasaur is a grass type, then the Leaf Stone would be the best pick. You can purchase stones in certain stores or find them in Poké Balls when you're on your journey.

Step 3: Go to your "Bag" and find the stone you will be using. After doing so, click on it and it will give you some choices. In this case, you will click the "Use" button.

Step 4: Select the Pokémon you want to use the stone on. Then, watch as the evolutionary process occurs!

Pokémon New Year Resolutions!

Hello Pokémon Fans!

As all of you already know, it is, finally, 2015. 2014 was a pretty good year in my opinion, but it is now 2015 and it is about time to make a couple new year resolutions for ourselves. I do not tend to make very big resolutions, but I do like to set some goals for things I'm passionate about.

Since I received Pokémon Omega Ruby for Christmas this year, I have yet to beat the game. I find myself busy with other things and I never have some quality gaming time to myself. Also, because I am one of those people who interact with literally every single pixel they encounter, I take an eternity to finish a game.

Moreover, this is a perfect segue in to Pokémon resolutions. If you're like me and you don't have time to play Pokémon games, I would suggest you make time for yourself, whenever you can, and attempt to play and continue your quest piece by piece. Make a goal for yourself to finish it as soon as you can!

Also, if any of you have any of the ORAS games, my brother, who also has Omega Ruby, told me that you can capture multiple legendary Pokémon from these things called mirage spots.

Since mirage spots help you in finding legendary Pokémon, you might want to consider on making a goal to capture a certain Pokémon you might want that the game offers. If you want to know a couple of the Pokémon that show up, my brother found Pokémon like Cobalion, Ho-Oh, Uxie, Virizion, and Mesprit. Down below is a picture of my brother's Ho-Oh.

Pokémon Gift Ideas!

Hi Pokémon Fans!

As Christmas comes upon us, there are so many gifts to purchase and create for our family and friends. If you are like me, I tend to wait until the last minute to purchase gifts. Yet, this year I have spent some time in choosing gifts for all my friends and family members, and I have also thought about some Pokémon themed present ideas as well. 

In this blog post, I will list off some potential gift ideas for any Pokémon fanatic, and I hope you guys get some inspiration and hopefully consider getting your friends or family any of these items.

1. Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire for 3DS!

This is the priciest of them all, but if you guys have any extra money and you want to buy someone something extra special, I would definitely recommend buying the new Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire game. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are basically another take of the original games Ruby and Sapphire, and I even bought Omega Ruby for my little brother this year. So, if you have any extra money please consider buying any of these games. You can purchase these online or in any video game store near you.

2. Pokémon Plushies!

Especially if your friend is a collector, a Pokémon plushie is a great gift for anyone. There are all sorts of plushies you can buy and collect, and they're amazing. The prices range, but they're not very expensive. You can get them online or at a store like GameStop. 

3. Pokémon Cards!

You can find these bad boys at stores like Walmart, GameStop, and online. The card game is very fun to play and your friend will enjoy collecting them, or if your friend is already a collector, they can add them to their deck. They aren't very expensive and they are totally affordable.

How To: Catch Pokémon

Hey Pokémon Fans!

It has been a while since I have last posted, but I will be updating more frequently now and I hope to inform you about new upcoming things soon. I'm going to kick start my blog off with a quick How To for beginning Pokémon fans and I will soon escalate to more advanced things, so please stay tuned!

This tutorial is going to be about one of the many different ways you can catch Pokémon. I'm using the game Pokémon Black for this tutorial, and I will be showing you guys how to attack and capture a wild Purloin with a Poké Ball. I hope you like this little tutorial and learn a couple of things from it as well. Enjoy!

P.S. Please don't pay much attention to the low quality pictures, my camera broke and I had to resort to using my iPhone's camera who, as you can see, takes very poor pictures. Hopefully you guys can follow along and still get an understanding of the situation.

1. NOTE: When you're first starting the match, it is always important to see if you can define your opponent's type. For example, Purloin is a Normal type, so Fighting type moves would be very effective against it. Effective moves are very powerful in lowering your opponent's health points (HP), helping aid your capture rate because your opponent is weak and unable to retaliate the Poké Ball as effectively. It is also a good thing to note your opponent's level as well. The higher the level, the harder it is to beat. It is always a good thing to have a Pokémon with a higher level to fight your opponent because it makes your opponent easier to damage. 

2. ATTACK: Click the "Fight" button in the middle of your screen, and use moves to lower your opponent's speed, attack, defense, and health. Dictate your moves, and use attacks that have an advantage over your opponent. In this case, using Fighting type moves against the Normal type opponent would decrease its health a lot more than any other move.

Since I did not have a Fighting type Pokémon, I used Lillipup instead. I used the move Tackle twice and lowered Purrloin's health just enough to make him easier to capture. You will know when your opponent has low HP when its health bar is no longer green, but yellow or red.

3. CHOOSE: Once you have lowered your opponent's HP, click the "Bag" button on the bottom left half of your screen. Then, select the Pokéball that would aid you the most in capturing your opponent. In this case, I used a regular Poké Ball.

4. WAIT AND HOPE: After you have chosen the Poké Ball you wanted, use it to capture your opponent. The Poké Ball will tilt back and forth for a while because your opponent is trying to fight back against the Poké Ball. Pokémon can sometimes escape the Poké Ball and you will have to try again, so hope that that never happens. Gratefully, I successfully captured the wild Purloin the first time and now he is resting peacefully in my PC.

I'm an internet enthusiast and I'm a pretty optimistic person. I tend to have a habit of getting really in to a video game topic and I feel like Pokémon is the video game I'm most passionate about.

    Pokémon helps take my mind off of things for a while and it's just been a leisure time activity that I really love. I was about 5 years old when I got my first official video game, and it was the one and only FireRed Pokémon game! Ever since then, I've just been really attached to the characters and the game itself. Therefore, I decided to create this blog as an outlet to express my thoughts and feelings about my favorite video game.

     I hope you guys enjoy my blog and I am going to do my very best to give insight on everything Pokémon! Now that the new Pokémon games, Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, are coming out I will try and review at least one of them on this blog.
